I bought this book for my daughter, and she gave it thumbs up. This book is written to engage its reader into thinking about their well being. It focuses not only on self care but also healing from experiences that we may have that are broken or not going so well with others. It is a recipe for improving one’s self to a state of healing and happiness. For some of us who may have daughters transiting to teenagers or adulthood, I would recommend this book. I received my Self-Care Kit as a gift at a workshop hosted by Dr. Gwen that I attended back in February (big fun, may I add). I was excited to put it to use after learning about all the different tools. It even comes with instructions, which makes it even better. My most used tool is the apple. I keep it on my night stand because I’m a late night snacker and for some reason it’s never anything healthy. It’s been a challenge but at the same time it has helped me to stop and reconsider my choices. I’ve planted the seeds as well, which has also inspired me to start my own garden. I would recommend the kit to anyone. It has many different tools to use, just know, as I found out, it’s one tool that’s always going to be the go to tool. Gotta luv it!!!

I’m very pleased with my purchase! Dr. Gwen’s Self-Care and Survival Kits have been very beneficial for me when I feel a need for self-improvement. These kits aid in helping me show some self compassion towards myself and acts as a friendly reminder that we are all human and it’s okay to take timeout to regroup.

I attended a workshop hosted by Dr. Gwen back in February. I must say it was very informative and very welcoming. At the workshop I received a self-care kit that you can use for many different things. I find myself using the resistance band that comes with instructions, the bookmark, and the sleep mask the most.  Thanks Dr. Gwen for inviting me and sharing your knowledge with me.  I would recommend attending her workshop if possible.
