If you are like me, at times, the answer would be NO! There are nights when I just can’t seem to fall asleep. When I don’t get enough sleep, it definitely impacts my productivity the next day.
Electronics May Be Impacting Your Sleep
I’m an avid reader. The majority of the time (90%), I like to read my kindle when I go bed. I had to give the kindle up because it was affecting my sleep pattern. If you are curling up with an e-reader (smartphone, tablet, IPad, Nook, Kindle) at night, you could not only be impacting your sleep, but damaging your health as well. Light from these devices have a negative impact on your internal clock.
Lack of Sleep and Health Risk
A Harvard University study found that people took longer to fall asleep, had less deep sleep and were more tired the next morning when they read e-readers versus a traditional paper book. Sleep deficiency increases the risk of cardiovascular disease, metabolic diseases like obesity and diabetes, and cancer. This is why I wanted to share this video with you.
Watch the video below. It is the first one in the Tuesday Tips , Tools & Strategies Self-Care Series called “Are you getting enough sleep?”
